Happy October!! I can honestly say that I can’t believe we’re actually 10 months into 2017. For me, 2017 has been a year of endings as well as new beginnings. I graduated high school in June, I started this blog in July, and I started college in August. It’s been a crazy year but it’s taught me so much about myself and about life in general. But I guess that’s every year, isn’t it?
I was really unsure of what I wanted to do this week on the blog but I thought I’d just sit down and have a chilled chat with you guys about how things are going. The biggest thing I’m thinking about and preparing for currently is my first solo trip that’s happening next week. In less than a week, I’ll be heading to Chicago to visit a friend and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about getting there and back alone. For some people, this doesn’t sound like a big deal but for me and the lovely anxiety I’ve been blessed with, it’s a pretty nerve wracking thing. Doing the smallest things alone still make me a bit nervous let alone traveling via train to another state. As nervous as I am, I know it’ll help me immensely in overcoming my anxiety which is something I’ve been trying to work on recently. Doing things that scare you is good for the soul. I’ll most definitely be doing a separate post about this topic along with a little photography post with some shots from Chicago.
Another thing I want to talk about is how school is going. It’s getting to that point in the year where things are starting to become a little more stressful. For me, high school was so busy and so stressful that college weirdly seems a lot less intense but still stressful in a different way. I think the most challenging thing is learning to prioritize my time. College has offered me more time off due to the more flexible schedule which means I need to work on buckling down and learning to not procrastinate so much. I’ve never been much of a procrastinator simply because I didn’t really have the free time to do so. That’s been one of my challenges for this blog too. I really love putting out new content but it’s sometimes difficult to think of an idea, write it all out, edit it, edit pictures, and put everything together. Definitely not easy, but worth it. Does anyone have any tips for time management with blogging?
How has everyone been enjoying fall so far? The weather just recently started cooling off here in Michigan which has me most excited to finally be able to wear the cozy sweaters in my closet that have been teasing me for weeks. Would now be an appropriate time to plug last week’s post, 5 Reasons to Fall in Love with Fall? Fall is my absolute favorite time of year in case you weren’t already aware (you probably were). I’ve been having a great fall so far and I hope you all have too. I have so many blog post ideas for the next few weeks and can’t wait to share them. ALSOOO, good luck to al of my fellow bloggers participating in Blogtober. I’m looking forward to so much new content this month. Thank you all a million times over for the support on everything so far & for being so sweet to me all the time. Gold star for all of you. I trust October treats you well with all of the nice fall things you could ever want. Let’s make it a good month 🙂
